Congratulations to Canadian Rachel McBride who finished a strong 3rd in the women's elite division of the San Francisco Triathlon at Treasure Island. The race was part of the ITU Pan American Cup series, plus the final stop on "The Haul to the Great Wall" Elite Series Championship.
The race was the Olympic distance triathlon, a 1.5km swim, 40km draft-legal bike and 10km run.
Fresh off a second place at the Huatulco, Mexico World Cup - Sarah Groff from the US was the overall winner in a time of 2:05:49, followed by US 2008 Olympic Team Member Julie Ertel in 2:06:44. Rachel finished 32 seconds behind Ertel in 2:07:16.
