Cole Stewart 3rd at Junior Nationals

August 16, 2008. Kelowna, BC.

Regional Triathlon Centre, Vancouver athlete Cole Stewart placed 3rd in the Canadian Junior Triathlon Championships today, his best-ever finish at the Nationals.

Fellow RTC athlete Andrew Hall, recovering from several injuries in recent weeks, showed his toughness finishing 28th in the highly competitive field.

Team BC showed its strength, also placing Victoria RTC athletes Matt Sharpe in 2nd and Christine Ridenour in 3rd.

Athletes were faced with 36 degree Celcius conditions on a hot Kelowna day. Tomorrow is expected to be just as hot, as the approximately 1000 age group athletes take to the course, followed by the elite National Championships.
